Learning impact is measured through classroom engagement and assessment data, which lead to enhanced outcomes quantitatively and qualitatively, as seen in our impact assessments.

User Experience

Accordion toggle
User interface
Class Saathi was designed with teacher feedback and information from our first pilots in mind. The original interface was built for a Korean market, and then based on our experience with public and private schools in India, it was completely redesigned based on systematically collected feedback from teachers on what they wanted to see. Examples: 1. The main screen has only 4 key functions to reduce teacher choice and time spent 2. All reports and insights were built with teacher feedback on what they want to see for their action and to report to administrators

Data-driven product development
Our data insights at the backend allow us to see which functions are used most, and which have resulted in improvements in student engagement and outcomes. Based on this data and teacher feedback, we build additional functions or enhance features that teachers use more. For example, teachers used the report and dashboard section extensively, so we built more ways for them to see data and make informed decisions.

Equity of access & Gender

Accordion toggle
Product usage between genders
In developing countries like India, the number of girls attending schools tends to be lower in semi-urban and rural areas due to social pressure, or a skewed gender ratio. There is also free and compulsory education (mandated by the Indian govt.) until the 8th grade, after which there is a significant increase in dropouts, which is exacerbated by students already falling behind. With Class Saathi, teachers in any context are able to understand learning gaps for each student, and thus provide them support so that they are not left behind. With students demonstrating better learning outcomes, we are giving them another chance to buck the trend and continue on to complete their education, and thus get on an altered life path.
