Tilli is designed with inclusion and equity embedded across its product, pedagogy, and operations. Our learning experiences represent diverse children, caregivers, and communities across the Global South, ensuring learners see themselves reflected in the characters, stories, and situations. We co-create with local educators and caregivers to eliminate cultural bias and promote relevance.
Functionally, our product is accessible across low-bandwidth environments and available in multiple languages to ensure reach across underserved communities.
Our user interface is intuitive and child-friendly, using minimal text and guided navigation to support low-literacy and first-time users, including caregivers. Additionally, our Social Emotional Learning kits include unplugged options, enabling access without the need for digital devices.
Tilli’s business model prioritizes affordability and accessibility. We work with public schools, NGOs, and local governments to deliver our tools at subsidized or zero cost to the end-user, ensuring that no child is left behind.
Lastly, inclusion is central to our team composition and values. Over 70% of our team identifies as women, and many of us come from the very communities we serve. We actively challenge power asymmetries in education and design, embedding empathy, co-creation, and agency into everything we do.
